It’s finally your wedding day and you can’t wait to spend it with the love of your life. There are so many times we hear brides and grooms say they wish they spent more time together. How can it be that you feel you aren’t spending as much time with your new spouse as you would like to? Well, things happen: vendors have questions, guests want to say hi, everyone wants photos. It can become extremely difficult to enjoy the time of your wedding day with each other.
Below are 5 ways you can take time to connect with each other:
1. Call each other when you wake up on the morning of your wedding. It can be so relaxing to just hear the voice of the person you love. You’ll get some extra time to chat with the love of your life, and it’ll help calm down some of the nerves.
2. Schedule time for just the two of you in between the ceremony and reception. This can be a busy time because of travel and photos, but you just got married! Spend 30 minutes alone, with no distractions. We promise you won’t regret it.
3. Have a sweetheart table. While it would be nice to be seated at a head table with your bridal party/family, having a sweetheart table allows you and your new spouse to spend a little more extra time alone while you eat.
4. Mingle with guests together. You might not see everyone if you don’t split up, but that’s okay. The people who really want to congratulate you will come find you!
5. At the end of the night, when all of the guests are getting ready to leave or you’re setting up for your grand exit, set aside 5 minutes for one last private dance. No guests, no pressure, just the 2 of you soaking in your happily ever after. If your photographer is staying until the end, get them to take a few photographs and then leave you and your new husband to have a final private last dance.
