Your bridesmaid duties are almost over, but the wedding day is the most important day! Here is a list of the top 8 essential duties of a bridesmaid on the wedding day ✨
1. Make sure the bride stays hydrated and eats breakfast
2. Keep the getting ready area clean. A messy environment makes for a stressed bride
3. Know how to bustle the train on her wedding dress
4. Hold the bride’s bouquet when she reaches the alter
5. Make sure her dress and veil are fluffed and photo-ready
6. Be on the dance floor if the bride is
7. Stay until the end and help with any cleanup
8. Make sure the bride feels beautiful all day!
In addition to the above duties, bridesmaids can lend an extra hand with the tasks after the time at your venue has ended:
- Make sure all guests make it onto the right shuttle buses, find their cars, and make it safely out of the venue.
- Hand out pre-addressed tip envelopes to the vendors.
- Make sure the bride and/or groom’s overnight bags make it to their wedding night hotel room.
- Organize guests to the after-party, if there is one.
Another thing you can do is hold onto the bride’s phone, and follow her around throughout the day. When she goes off to take couple portraits with her new husband, go with them and take some photos and videos on her phone so that she has something to look at the next day. Since photographers usually send out the final edited photos within a couple of months after the wedding, it would be nice for the bride to get to see some photos from the day, and have them on her phone already!
